Sophie Bauer was born an grew up in Paris in 1993. Since her acting debut at age 11 as „Bielke“ in „The Fiddler on the Roof“ she is a constant member in the youth-ensemble of the Volksoper Vienna. More solo guest appearances as Luise Trapp in „The Sound of Music“(2007), as Fini in „The Land of Smiles“ (2008-2010) and as Kathi in „A Waltz Dream“ (2011-2013) followed. In addition, she appeared in various plays with the Volksoper Vienna children’s and youth choir such as „The Wizard of Oz“, „Hänsel and Gretel“, „A Midsummer Night’s Dream“, „The Poacher“, „Countess Maritza“, „La Bohème“, „Carmen“, „The Evangelimann“ and many more.
After graduating from the „Krauss“ Acting School in 2014, she began her studies as a musical actress at the Vienna Conservatory, which she successfully completed in January 2017. During her time at the acting school she performed, alongside various plays on the school´s stage herself, as „Actress“ and „Whore“ in Schnitzler´s „Der Reigen“ at the Off-Theater Vienna, directed by Nicolas Charaux. Another project was the play for children „Zack Hitti Zopp“ in Hall B of the Badner Creative Youth Centre. In 2013 she was seen as „Sofie“ in the crime comedy „Bad Fucking“ (MR Filmproduction, directed by: Harald Sicheritz) in Austrian cinemas and on public television (ORF).
In April 2016 she played, in addition to various theater pieces at the Volksoper Vienna, the role of „Rapunzel“ and „Cinderella’s Mother“ in Sondheim’s Musical „Into the Woods“ at the Vienna English Theatre. This season she got solo parts in „A Night in Venice“, „Pinocchio“ and „Vivaldi – the fifth season“ at the Vienna Volksoper. Currently she plays various roles in the on-tour theater production „Don Carlos – Crime and Dinner“. Her next project this summer will be „The Little Mermaid“ at the Märchensommer Niederösterreich, where she will be seen as the „Seagull“.
